Introduction
The LJ Institute of Media & Communications organized a Resume Writing Workshop on January 6, 2024, under the guidance of Dr. Divya Soni, Director of LJ Institute of Media and Communication, who led the workshop with an aim to empower participants with the skills and knowledge necessary for crafting impactful resumes in preparation for their professional journey.
Objectives:
     To equip students with the necessary tools and knowledge to create impactful resumes. 
     To raise awareness about the importance of a well-crafted resume in securing job opportunities. 
      To provide practical guidance to make students industry ready.

Welcome and Introduction:
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome extended by Dr. Divya Soni, emphasizing the significance of resume writing in students' career development. Attendees were briefed on the agenda for the session, which encompassed a comprehensive overview of resume writing essentials.
 
Moderator: 
Dr. Divya Soni, Director of LJ Institute of Media and Communication, and experienced Academician, spearheaded the workshop. With extensive experience in academics and industry, Dr. Divya Soni brought invaluable expertise to guide participants through the intricacies of resume writing. 
 
Key Learnings Shared:
During the workshop, Dr. Divya Soni led students through a practical, step-by-step process on how to create a resume from start to finish. In addition to this hands-on approach, she imparted invaluable insights and details concerning resume creation, including the fundamental distinctions between resumes, CVs, and biodata. Furthermore, attendees gained further insights into:
 
Understanding Resume Structure:
Participants gained insights into the purpose and structure of a resume, learning how to effectively organize information to create a compelling document. They understood the importance of presenting information in a clear and concise manner to capture the attention of potential employers.
 
Identifying Key Components:
Students explored the essential components of a resume, including contact information, work experiences, achievements, skills, and interests. They learned to priorities relevant information and tailor their resumes to align with specific job requirements.
 
Understanding the Difference Between Resume, CV, and Biodata: 
Students learned to distinguish between the various document types used in job applications, understanding the unique purposes and formats of resumes, CVs, and biodata.
 
Tools and Resources for Resume Enhancement:
Practical demonstrations introduced participants to tools like ChatGPT and Canva for enhancing resume presentation. They gained hands-on experience in utilizing these tools to create professional-looking resumes.
 
Leveraging LinkedIn for Professional Networking and Job Search:
Guidance was provided on optimizing LinkedIn profiles for job searches and networking purposes. Participants learned strategies for building a strong professional network, engaging with industry professionals, and showcasing their skills effectively on the platform, thereby increasing their visibility to potential employers
 
Audience Q&A:
During the workshop, participants actively engaged in a question-and-answer session, seeking clarification on various aspects of resume writing and professional networking. Dr. Divya Soni addressed their queries with expertise, providing practical advice and additional insights to further enrich their understanding.
 
Attendees: 
Approximately 90 plus participants all across LJ University, including students from LJ School of Law, New LJ Commerce College, LJ Institute of Integrated M.B.A, LJ Institute of Pharmacy, LJ School of Architecture, and LJ Institute of Engineering and Technology, actively engaged in the workshop, among which around 65 students with prior registrations and also students with on the spot registrations attended the workshop.
The diverse representation underscored the universal relevance of resume writing skills across various academic disciplines.

The engagement level and positive feedback in the name of feedback form indicated the success of the workshop in fulfilling its objectives. The responses were overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the students' satisfaction with the workshop's quality and relevance. Notably, many students expressed a desire for regular workshops of this nature, recognizing their potential to significantly benefit their future pursuit.
