Seminar on GAN Seminar
M.Sc.IT, LJKU
Saturday,22nd March and Saturday, 29th March 2025
Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) are crucial for creating realistic synthetic images by training two neural networks in competition. For MScIT students, understanding GANs enhances skills in AI-driven image generation, useful in fields like computer vision, animation, and data augmentation for machine learning projects. Accordingly, a seminar was organized on Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) in two sessions on 22nd and 29th March 2025 by the Department of M.Sc.(IT),LJ School of Computer Applications (LJICA), Lok Jagruti Kendra University (LJKU), under the guidance of honorable HOD Dr. Jignesh Doshi. The seminar was led by Prof. Pooja Gandhi, M.Sc.(IT). On the first day, she gave an easy-to-understand introduction to GANs and explained their basic parts—the generator and the discriminator. She talked about where GANs are used, such as in making images, videos, and other creative content. She also explained how GANs work and how they are trained to get better over time. To help students understand better, she gave live examples and showed her own project where she had used GANs to generate realistic images. This helped the students see how GANs are used in real life.
The seminar aimed to introduce students to the concept of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), their architecture, functioning, and applications in the field of artificial intelligence. Around 50 students attended the seminar. The student benefited by gaining knowledge of the emerging trend of GANs, which expanded their understanding of modern AI techniques and opened up opportunities for innovative projects in image processing and deep learning.
