LJ- Integrated MBA 5 year program, School of Management Studies, organizes and conducts various events and activities around the year, as a part of co-curricular and extracurricular learning for the students. This year, LJ IMBA introduced a new managerial event, Bizzest, which is a management fest with a twist of fun and learning.  Bizzest, gave a platform to the students to showcase their ideas and how they plan to put it into action if given a chance to. Not only did the event helped students in brainstorming business ideas, design their ideas and present them, they also learned communication, marketing skills, bargaining skills, among various other learnings.

Bizzest was held in 3 rounds. Round 1, “Pitch your plan”, held on two subsequent days, i.e 18th and 19th January, as the name suggests, was about presenting their business ideas, to the jury, who’d evaluate the teams on the basis of their product design, negotiation skills, profit design among other evaluation criteria. Among the 38 teams that participated in Round 1, 30 teams were able to go to the Round 2 which was “Buy Out”, an auction round, held on 21st January 2023, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, was held for team to secure a stall for displaying their business for 1 day. the stalls were categorized in 3 orders:

1. Premium stalls- for which bid started @ 400 Rs.

2. Executive Stalls- for which bid started @ 600 Rs and

3. Economy Stalls - for which bid started @ 800 Rs.

Through this round, students were able to experience how bidding in auctions is conducted. The maximum limit for Bidding was 3000 Rs. After the given 20 stalls were sold out, it was announced that the management was offering 3 additional stalls, which were the surprise stalls. The bid for these stalls started @ 2000 Rs., which was the average bid of the auction.

The 23 teams, which were successful in raising offers for the stalls, proceeded for the third and the final round,  Bizzest Mela on 25 January 2023 . The students were instructed to conduct all transactions in the Bizzest currency which was divided in multiples of 10 (10 ,20, 50, 100 etc.). All the participants set the stall from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The volunteers and faculties also held performances and audience engagement activities. Volunteers and participants also marched throughout the campus, to attract audience and as a part of marketing.

Through the continuous support from the faculties and volunteers, and incessant efforts of the participants, Bizzest, although the very first of its kind, was a huge success. Alongside all the fun and entertainment, learning bloomed too.
