Director's Message
Welcome to the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program at L.J. School of Planning, L.J. University.
As cities and regions face complex challenges—ranging from rapid urbanization, climate change, infrastructure deficits to inclusive growth—the need for well-trained urban and regional planners has never been greater. Our MURP program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of planning theory, spatial analysis, policy formulation, and implementation strategies that are both locally grounded and globally relevant.
At L.J. School of Planning, we believe in an experiential approach to learning. Through studio-based pedagogy, fieldwork, internships, research-led teaching, and interactions with professionals from academia, government, and industry, our students are exposed to real-world planning contexts and encouraged to innovate practical solutions.
The course is multidisciplinary providing platform to planners, architects, civil engineers, urban designers, construction managers, economists, sociologists and geographers. The curriculum and course is approved by Institute of Town Planners, India.
Our curriculum not only meets the academic and professional standards set by leading planning bodies like ITPI, but also emphasizes skill development in GIS, data analytics, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable planning practices. We also take pride in nurturing leadership, critical thinking, and ethical values among our students—qualities essential for the next generation of planners.
We invite aspiring planners to join us in shaping the future of our cities and regions. At L.J. School of Planning, you will find a supportive academic environment, dedicated faculty, and the resources you need to thrive and make a meaningful impact.
Warm
regards,
