Admissions 

ELIGIBILITY For Full-Time Ph.D

i. The upper age limit for JRF is 35 years for men as on 1 July of the year of application and 45 years for women.  

ii. The candidate must have secured the minimum percentage 55% (without gracing and round off) in post-graduation or equivalent grades. Five percent (5%) relaxation of marks (without gracing and round off) will be given to the SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates.) 

iii. The candidate should be qualified with the relevant entrance exam as per the field of application-

ELIGIBILITY for Part-Time Ph.D.

Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the University Grant Commission, henceforth called UGC, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

A 5% relaxation is allowed for specified categories or those with a Master's degree before 19th September 1991.

LJU offers a 57% tuition fee reduction for its full-time faculty and staff pursuing a PhD, requiring commitment to LJ University throughout the program to avail this benefit.

ADMISSION PROCESS  for Full Time Ph.D.

The admission process for PhD 2025 will involve the following process:

1. Relevant entrance exam as per eligibility criteria.

2. Followed by 2 rigorous rounds of personal interviews.

ADMISSION PROCESS  for Part Time Ph.D.

The admission process for PhD 2025 will involve the following process:

· Applicants must qualify Ph.D. Entrance Exam conducted by L J University, except for those with UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR NET, GATE, GPAT, or teacher fellowship holders.

· M.Phil. degree holders are exempt from the entrance exam.

· The admission process includes a two-stage evaluation: a written exam (50% domain knowledge and 50% research methodology) and an interview/viva-voce.
