Dr. Rinku Umrani
Associate Professor
Dr. Rinku is a Pharmacologist with about 18 years of experience in drug discovery and research (NCEs and nanotherapeutics).
During her industrial tenure, she worked on the development of NCEs for dyslipidemia, diabetes and obesity. Her recent research work is focused on development of nanotherapeutics for the treatment of diabetes and cancer, including nanoparticle synthesis and functionalization, analytical characterization, efficacy testing using
in vitro
and
in vivo
models, safety pharmacology and toxicology.
Dr. Umrani is also interested in the therapeutic areas of wound healing and Alzheimer's disease.
She also has a teaching experience of about one and half years, and is very interested in developing job-ready skill set of Masters' and Ph. D students.
