The School of Pharmacy uses Problem-Based Learning (PBL) as a key academic strategy to develop critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills among students. PBL sessions involve structured activities where students face real-world healthcare and pharmaceutical challenges, allowing them to apply their knowledge across disciplines to find practical solutions. Students work in small groups to analyze information, identify issues, research interventions, and propose solutions, strengthening subject comprehension, decision-making, teamwork, and communication skills. The School of Pharmacy incorporates practical tools and immersive learning environments, such as the Pharma Brigade, a student-led platform that allows learners to take charge of real-time industry or community health projects. This initiative exposes students to leadership roles and interdisciplinary collaboration while working on pharmaceutical innovation or public health outreach programs. Hands-on training on sophisticated instruments like High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) further enriches the problem-solving experience, allowing students to better understand the application of scientific principles in quality control, drug analysis, and research development.

MindSpark Unleashed: Case Study Competition

Date: March 25, 2025 | Participants: 71 students | Coordinators: Dr. Swati Pathak, Dr. Maulin Saha

The MindSpark Unleashed case study competition exemplifies student-centric problem-solving methodologies at LJ School of Commerce. This Campus to Corporate (C2C) Club initiative engaged 71 students across all semesters in analyzing real-world business challenges through a two-round competitive format. Five teams presented comprehensive case studies on diverse sectors including Agriculture (5 Paandav), Infrastructure (Infracrafter), Pharmaceutical Industry (Vital Minds), FinTech (Fantastic Four), and emerging business trends (Slide Squad). The competition structure included initial presentations followed by strategic brainstorming rounds where students demonstrated critical thinking under pressure, with expert judges Dr. Ketan Shah and Prof. Divya Soni evaluating content depth, presentation skills, and strategic insight.

The event successfully achieved its learning objectives by bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhancing students' problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking capabilities. Students developed professional presentation skills, analytical thinking, and team collaboration while gaining exposure to corporate-level decision-making processes. The winning team Fantastic Four received ₹1500, with Infracrafter earning ₹1000 as first runner-up, while all participating teams received recognition awards. This experiential learning approach effectively prepared commerce students for their transition to professional environments by providing hands-on experience in business case analysis, strategic planning, and confident public presentation—core competencies essential for corporate success.
