Objective
The primary objective of this seminar was to provide an engaging and comprehensive platform for students to gain a deep understanding of the intricacies of new product design and development. The sessions aimed to move beyond theoretical knowledge and focus on practical learning, allowing students to understand the nuances of the industry outside of academia . A core goal was to familiarize students with current industry standards , methodologies, and the challenges faced in a professional product design business. By the end of the seminar, students were expected to have a clearer perspective on the complete new product development , from initial concept to launch .
Process
The seminar was structured as a series of interactive sessions led by Mr. Kartik Chavada , who brings 20 years of entrepreneurial experience from running his own successful product design business. Across the three da ys , he shared his extensive knowledge through detailed presentations, case studies, and personal experiences . He dedicated significant time to explaining the foundational product design concept and its importance as the first step in innovation. The most impactful part of the process was the one-on-one time he spent with students, personally guiding them through the design process for their own conceptual projects.
