Rules & Regulations – Cineverse Short Film Festival 2026 (LJIMC)
● The Cineverse Short Film Festival 2026 is open to students, independent filmmakers, colleges/institutions, and individual technicians or actors.
● Entries are accepted from Gujarat, across India, and worldwide.
● Participants may submit multiple short films, with a registration fee of ₹500 per film.
● Each submitted film must be produced between 1 January 2025 and 26 January 2026 (12:00 AM IST) and must not exceed a maximum duration of 25 minutes, including credits. Films exceeding the time limit will be considered for screening only and will not be eligible for awards.
● There is no restriction on language; however, hardcoded English subtitles are mandatory for all films. Silent films are also eligible, provided English subtitles are included.
● All films must align with the festival theme “Going Beyond - Breaking Barriers” Any form of social or political commentary, vulgarity, obscenity, or offensive insinuations is strictly prohibited.
● Films made using Artificial Intelligence tools are permitted. Participants may submit either fully AI-generated films or films that incorporate AI at any stage of the filmmaking process, including scripting, visuals, editing, or sound.
● Films must comply with the prescribed technical specifications: .MP4 or .MOV format, 1920 × 1080 (Full HD) resolution, H.264 codec, minimum 20 Mbps bitrate, and stereo audio only (5.1 not accepted).
● Films must be submitted online only via a Google Drive link or YouTube link (Unlisted/Private) through the official registration form. No changes or replacements will be accepted once the submission link is uploaded.
● The last date for submission is 26 January 2026, by 11:59 PM (IST).
● Each submission must include complete contact details, Director’s bio-data, a film synopsis (maximum 300 words), and a film poster/publicity material (standard size).
● The Producer / Director / Legal Rights Holder must sign and submit the official Declaration Form. The filmmaker must ensure that all copyrights and permissions related to music, visuals, footage, and content are legally cleared, and that the film is an original, non-plagiarized work. Any legal or copyright-related issues shall be the sole responsibility of the submitter.
● All submitted films will undergo a screening and evaluation process conducted by the Festival Committee and Jury. Shortlisted films will be informed via email and/or phone.
● All selected films will be screened before a live audience during the festival. Shortlisted films will be uploaded on the official LJIMC YouTube channel with due credits to the filmmakers.
● Selected participants will receive certificates, along with mentorship and networking opportunities with industry professionals during the festival.
● One authorized representative (Director / Producer / Team Lead) must complete the registration, payment, and submission of details on behalf of the entire team.
● If any information submitted is found to be false or misleading, the festival reserves the right to reject the entry or cancel the selection, even after announcement.
● The Jury’s decision shall be final and binding, and no correspondence regarding selection or awards will be entertained.
● LJIMC / LJ University, Ahmedabad reserves the right to use submitted films or excerpts for festival promotion, academic, archival, and non-commercial screening purposes.
● Submission of a film implies full acceptance of all rules and regulations of the Cineverse Short Film Festival 2026.
All submissions are governed by clearly defined eligibility criteria, technical requirements, and rules of competition, detailed below. By submitting an entry, participants agree to abide by all festival guidelines and jury decisions.
