PIILLS: Why we are getting obese? Reasons and Remedies
Surgery, Joint Reconstruction and Orthopedic Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Shoulder & Elbow as well as Paediatric Orthopedic Surgery by placing an important emphasis on health screening and preventative medicine at his clinic. He has completed his tenure as a President of the Paediatric Orthopedic society of India. Currently he is a chairperson of the leadership committee of the Indian Academy of Cerebral palsy.
He also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students of medicine, physiotherapy and paediatric orthopaedics. His treatment philosophy is based on the principle of excellent healthcare to all. In addition to these, he has contributed to many Undergraduate and Postgraduate textbooks, monographs and research publications in certain prestigious journals.
Dr Mihirdev Jhala who is Neuro Physiotherapist and a PhD Scholar. He is currently working as a Principal at JG College of Physiotherapy in Ahmedabad. He has a vast academic experience of 15+ years. He is also a Post Graduate Guide for Masters of Physiotherapy students in the Neuroscience Specialty. Moreover, He has published many Scientific research papers in National and International journals. He has given expert lectures as a keynote speaker at many national and International Conferences.
In addition to this he is a well-known fitness enthusiast also where he has been inspiration to many people due to his constant guidance and endless efforts in his field.
The session was inaugurated by Ms. Disha Joshi, Assistant Professor, L.J. Institute of Pharmacy by an introductory speech while, Dr. Shreeraj Shah, Director & Principal, L.J. Institute of Pharmacy welcomed our chief guest with a Tulsi pot and memento. Approximately 90 students and 10-13 faculty members had actively participated in the session. Dr Dhiren Ganjwala initiated his session by addressing the students as well as all the faculty members about the importance of world obesity day (March 4th) and besides other countries why India should also be worried about this disease further carried by Dr Mihirdev Jhala

§ Initially, he shared his knowledge regarding discussed the basics, effects, reasons, and remedies for overweight and obesity.
§ Dr Mihir Jhala explained the role of food in obesity, all about intermittent fasting, various concepts of weight management and current lifestyle scenarios.
§ They discussed the concerns about being overweight, diseases associated with obesity and its complications and current lifestyles.
§ They mentioned all the causes and other lifestyle related risk factors for Overweight and Obesity which are early age and lack of awareness.
· They concluded their talk by mentioning intermittent fasting and how one should modify their diet and lifestyle regarding overweight and obesity.
- Furthermore, a few of the students and faculty members raised certain queries regarding the consistency of intermittent fasting, Hence Dr. Shreeraj Shah actively responded and interacted with all the members.
- The seminar was then concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Disha Joshi.
