A tree plantation program titled "Green Legacy: Tree Plantation Drive" was successfully organized by the department of MSc.IT., Lok Jagruti Kendra University (LJKU) on 29/07/25, to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. The event aimed to encourage students and faculty members to take active steps toward restoring green cover and combating climate change.
Dr. Jignesh Doshi, Head of MSc. IT department, and Dr. Anuradha Acharya, Associate Professor, played pivotal roles in orchestrating a transformative tree plantation initiative. Their leadership inspired more than 100 students to participate actively in planting trees. The program witnessed the plantation of 25 neem saplings within the university premises.
Ecological Core Focus: Neem Trees
Known for their myriad environmental and medicinal benefits, neem trees were judiciously chosen to improve local air quality, fortify soil integrity, and offer natural shade across the campus grounds.
Every sapling was diligently planted, watered, and secured, reflecting the participants’ conscientious dedication to long-term ecological well-being. The program not only beautified the campus but also reinforced the critical importance of environmental responsibility among the youth.
By effectively integrating core sustainability values directly with active academic culture, the event exemplified how progressive institutions can systematically lead by example. This initiative stands as a proud testament to LJKU’s unwavering commitment to climate action, environmental responsibility, and conscious living.
