About this course

Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines. It is a branch of engineering that applies the principles of Mechanics and Materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. They can range from building a rocket ship down to things as small as an integrated circuit.

At LJU, Department of Mechanical Engineering started the Under Graduate programme and the Post Graduate programmes (M.E) in specialized mechanical engineering branches called CAD/CAM and Thermal Engineering are also available at LJU.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has collaborations with different industries and research organizations ranging from automotive to manufacturing domains to support research activities at the campus. Various societies like SAE and ISHRAE have their student chapters here at the campus for professional experience. Industrial training, bridge courses are conducted periodically here. The department is also connected with L J Design Centre where technical training in mechanical design software like AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Solid Works and ANSYS is available for students.

Scope

For mechanical engineering graduates, the opportunities are infinite. They are not only responsible for the design of mechanical systems but also handle the testing, maintenance, and manufacturing process of the product. They can take their first step as mechanical graduates in departments like Research and Development, Production Analysis & Testing, Installation, Maintenance and Design. They get recruited by many multinational companies working in different industries like Automobile Industry, Aerospace Industry, Steel Plants, Thermal Plants, Shipping Industry, Mechatronics Industry and Robotics Industry.

Eligibility
